Dubai Layover Guide that Scuba Divers will Love

Dubai is noted for its beautiful historic sites, stunning skyscrapers, amazing beaches, and incredible diving spots. If you have an extended stopover in Dubai, you can make it an epic experience. Here’s a Dubai stopover guide to make every moment count.

Scuba diving at the Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is all about innovation and ingenuity. This incredible man-made island was created using millions of tons of rock and sand. An aerial view of the artificial island shows a futuristic-looking palm tree. It’s so incredible that it is even visible from space. Palm Jumeirah has an array of luxury hotels and resorts, residential buildings, and beachfront villas. It’s a great diving spot for beginners and experienced divers.

If you have no prior experience in scuba diving, you can still use your stopover to explore the amazing underwater world of Dubai. Sign up for Discover Scuba Diving and experience the joy of diving without committing to a longer certified course. This Introductory Diving program enables first-timers to visit the world beneath the waves and appreciate marine life up close, including corals and different fish species. You might even come across playful turtles. As long as you’re in good health and know how to swim, you can participate in Discover Scuba Diving. It only takes two to three hours which leaves you enough time to do other fun things. All necessary equipment will be provided and a professional instructor will guide you every step of the way. Check out Nemo scuba diving Dubai deals for details.

Palm Jumeirah DubaiScuba diving is a fun activity if you have an extended stopover in Dubai (ideally two days or more) to have ample preflight surface interval. Keep in mind that for a single no-decompression dive, the Divers Alert Network (DAN) recommends waiting at least 12 hours before flying. For a succession of dives per day or multiple days of scuba diving, DAN suggests at least 18 hours minimum preflight surface interval. For dives that require decompression stops, a longer preflight surface interval (more than 18 hours) is generally recommended to be on the safe side.

If you’re a certified diver and want to join our diving trips to experience deep sea diving Dubai, we recommend scheduling a longer visit in the UAE.
