Guide ropes connect the wrecks, making navigation easy and safe. With shallow depth and good accessibility, the site is suitable for Open Water divers and photographers. The juxtaposition of man‑made metal and natural coral colonisation tells a story of renewal and biodiversity.
Car Cemetery is a macro photographer’s paradise. An estimated 300 species of nudibranch inhabit UAE waters, and many can be found here. Look for nudibranch species such as the red‑ringed purple‑spotted dorid, red‑papulose Gymnodoris, red‑lined Flabellina and yellowish‑orange Chromodorid. Seahorses cling to sea fans or car parts, changing colours to blend in. Blennies occupy crevices and tyres, while honeycomb moray eels lurk in holes. Stingrays occasionally rest in the sand; Omani clingfish may be found beneath crinoids.
