The PADI Tec 50 course represents the highest level in the Tec Deep pathway and a major milestone in your journey toward full technical diver certification. This advanced technical diving course focuses on extended range diving using multiple gases, allowing you to safely conduct deeper and more complex dives. As part of your PADI Tec course progression, the Tec 50 diver program prepares you for real-world expedition-level diving. This Tec 50 diver program develops mastery in professional technical diving training:

  • Extended decompression diving up to 50 meters
  • Use of two decompression cylinders with different gas mixes
  • Advanced gas planning and execution
  • Multi-stop decompression procedures
  • Strong situational awareness and emergency preparedness
  • Handling foreseeable technical diving emergencies
  • Precision buoyancy, trim, and propulsion under heavy task loading

Gas & Depth Capabilities:

  • Depth up to 50 meters / 165 feet
  • Air or enriched air up to 100% oxygen
  • Optional Trimix:
    • Minimum 21% oxygen
    • Maximum 40% helium

This decompression diving course also lays the foundation for progressing into Trimix and expedition-level diving.

Session 1 – Foundation & Alignment

  • Standardize equipment setup (doubles or sidemount)
  • Weighting, trim, and procedural refinement

Prepare for your Tec 50 diver program with:

  • A high level of commitment and readiness for challenge
  • Signed and valid Diver Medical Form (within 12 months, no changes)
  • Personal scuba and technical diving equipment
  • Reusable water bottle and light snacks
  • Towel and flip-flops
  • Valid ID
  • The course typically takes 3 days (4 Sessions). Each session lasts 3-4 hours.
  • Daily start times at 9 AM or 2 PM 
  • Group size: Maximum three divers per instructor to ensure safety and supervision.
  • Location: Training primarily in Musandam and deep sites in Fujairah.

  • Official Tec 50 certification
  • Tanks for your configuration (twinset or sidemount + dual deco tanks)
  • 4 to 5 training dives following PADI Tec course standards

  • Tec 50 is demanding; ensure you’re physically fit and comfortable executing complex procedures at depth.
  • You will be using two decompression gases; practise switching and labeling carefully.
  • Helium is not used at this level; if you wish to reduce narcosis or exceed 50 m, continue to Trimix 65.
  • Safety is paramount—our instructors maintain strict protocols and redundant equipment.
  • After completing Tec 50, you will be ready to progress to Trimix 65, Full Trimix or sidemount technical diving.
