About the Course

Enriched Air Nitrox is one of the most popular scuba specialties because it allows divers to reduce nitrogen absorption by using a breathing gas with a higher oxygen percentage than standard air. On the live page, Nemo explains that Nitrox can help divers stay down longer, shorten surface intervals, and feel less tired after repetitive dives, making it especially useful for liveaboards, deeper diving days, and multi-day dive trips. This enriched air diver course is ideal for divers who want practical knowledge they can use right away on local dives, travel dives, and dive holidays. As a focused specialty, it introduces the core principles of nitrox diving, including gas analysis, oxygen exposure awareness, correct cylinder labeling, and dive computer setup. Next step: After Enriched Air Nitrox, you can add the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course or continue with the PADI Sidemount Diver course. You can see every option on our PADI Specialty Diving Courses in Dubai page. Ready for the water? Explore the Morning Dive trip in Dibba Al Fujairah. Not sure which specialty to take first? • Two nitrox cylinders and instructor‑guided dives (optional) to practise planning and execution.
  • Certification processing and digital card.
  • Light refreshments during the practical session and optional dive day.
  • Transportation to/from the classroom and dive sites.
  • Personal dive computer capable of setting oxygen percentages (required for the dives).
  • Meals beyond snacks and optional nitrox upgrades for additional dives.

In this PADI Enriched Air Diver program, you will learn how to:

  • understand the benefits and risks of Enriched Air Nitrox
  • analyze Nitrox cylinders using an oxygen analyzer
  • label cylinders correctly before a dive
  • set your dive computer for different oxygen blends
  • manage oxygen exposure responsibly
  • plan repetitive dives using nitrox diving principles
  • use EANx diving to extend bottom time and reduce surface intervals

This specifically highlights oxygen analysis, cylinder labeling, dive computer settings, repetitive dive planning, and the benefits and risks of enriched air as key learning outcomes.

After completing the academic and practical requirements, divers earn the Enriched Air Diver certification. This nitrox certification confirms that you have completed formal enriched air certification training and can safely analyze, label, and plan dives using enriched air blends.

This certification is valid for life and counts toward Master Scuba Diver, with optional dives recommended to reinforce skills in real conditions.

  • Dive computer capable of nitrox settings and a compatible regulator (or confirm your regulator can handle higher O₂).
  • Certification card, logbook, swimwear and towel if diving.
  • Notepad/pen for the practical session.
  • Reef‑safe sunscreen if doing the optional dives.
  • A curious mind to learn simple gas math and analysis.
  1. Enroll & self‑study: Complete the e‑learning or manual at home; review oxygen exposure and gas theory.
  2. Practical session: Meet your instructor to practise gas analysis, cylinder labeling and dive computer setup.
  3. Optional dives: Join two guided nitrox dives in Fujairah or Musandam to experience longer no‑decompression limits.
  4. Certification: Submit your paperwork and receive your Enriched Air Diver card.
  5. Continue learning: Pair nitrox with specialties like Deep Diver or Wreck Diver to further enhance bottom time.
  • Duration: 3-hour session, or full day if adding two optional dives.
  • Scheduling: Daily start times at 9 AM, 12 PM or 3 PM.
  • Group size: Up to six students per instructor for the practical; dives limited to four divers for safety.
  • Location: Classroom sessions in Dubai, with optional dives in Fujairah.
  • Nitrox does not increase your depth limit. Always dive within your certification level.
  • You must use a dive computer capable of setting the correct oxygen percentage for each cylinder.
  • Analyse every cylinder before your dive and label it accordingly. Do not rely on others’ analyses.
  • Nitrox is ideal for repetitive dives and liveaboards; ask Nemo about package deals combining nitrox with other specialties.
  • Once certified, nitrox fills are widely available and typically cost a small surcharge per tank.
