What you need to know

  • Complete Advanced Open Water Course (Dubai or Fujairah)
  • Five adventure dives: two required (Deep and Navigation) plus three elective dives such as Night, Wreck, Drift, Peak Performance Buoyancy or Fish ID.
  • Full scuba equipment rental, including a dive computer.Dive computer is subject to availability. Advance booking is required if needed.
  • Boat Dive.
  • Instructor fees, certification processing and surface‑interval snacks.
  • Transportation to dive sites (Fujairah or Musandam).
  • Optional Nitrox fills or specialty upgrades.
  • Personal items such as cameras, torches or dive computers (a basic computer is provided).
  • Accommodation if you stay overnight.
  • Dive insurance (recommended).
  • How to dive safely to 30 m (21 m for juniors) and manage narcosis, air supply and gas planning.
  • Underwater navigation using a compass and natural references.
  • Elective dive skills: improved buoyancy control, night communication, wreck orientation, drift techniques or marine life identification, depending on your choices.
  • Enhanced situational awareness and problem‑solving, preparing you for rescue scenarios or professional training.
  • Standard Adventure / Elective Dives: Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Wreck Diving, Signal Marker Buoy, Nitrox Adventure Dive, Drift Diver, Rescue Adventure Dive, Night Diving, Dive Against Debris, Fish Identification and Underwater Naturalist.
  • PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.
  • Minimum age 12 years (junior divers aged 12–14 are limited to 21 m).
  • Completion of e‑learning or manual knowledge reviews before diving.
  • 2–3 days of diving (five dives) plus pre‑dive briefings.
  • Physically fit and able to swim.
  • Swimwear and towel.
  • Certification card and logbook.
  • Reef‑safe sunscreen and refillable water bottle.
  • Optional torch for night or wreck dives and camera.
  • Sense of adventure and curiosity.
  • Complete e‑learning: Study theory for your chosen adventure dives.
  • Deep & Navigation dives: Conduct these required dives with your instructor.
  • Elective dives: Choose three specialties (e.g., buoyancy, night, wreck, drift, fish ID) and complete them over one or two days.
  • Certification: Receive your Advanced Open Water E-Card and credit toward corresponding specialty courses.
  • Next steps: Consider Rescue Diver, EFR or other specialities.
  • The course typically takes 2–3 days (four sessions). Each session lasts 2–3 hours.
  • Dubai: Daily start times at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM or 3:00 PM.
  • Fujairah: 8:30 AM or 1:30 PM.
  • Courses run year‑round with flexible weekend and weekday options.
  • Group size is limited to four students per instructor.
  • Junior divers aged 12–14 receive a Junior Advanced certification with depth restricted to 21 m; they can upgrade at 15.
  • Each adventure dive counts toward the first dive of the related specialty; complete the course within 12 months to receive credit.
  • Conditions in Fujairah and Musandam can vary; instructors may adjust the dive schedule for safety.
  • A reasonable level of fitness is required; please complete a medical questionnaire prior to diving.
  • E-learning is mandatory for any PADI course. If you already have the E-learning included, that is great. If not, it can be added separately as an add-on.
  • Please note that a valid PADI eLearning account is required for your PADI certification to be issued. PADI eLearning is assigned individually and cannot be reused or shared between multiple students.

No. The Advanced Open Water is about practical application, not theory. There is no final exam. You will complete “Knowledge Reviews” online, but the focus is 100% on in-water execution.
Yes. You do not need a minimum number of logged dives. The course is designed to be taken immediately after your Open Water to build momentum and advanced competence under supervision.
No. We provide the full Elite Gear Kit (Compass, Torch, and SMB) at no extra cost for the duration of the course.
The Deep Adventure Dive module certifies you to descend to 30 meters (100 feet). This unlocks the majority of the UAE’s shipwrecks and deeper coral systems.
Absolutely. Most international liveaboards (Red Sea, Maldives) require an Advanced license for insurance purposes. Once certified, you gain priority access to our club expeditions.
If you have been inactive for more than 6 months, we require a quick Refresh pool session before your deep dives to ensure your buoyancy and safety protocols are sharp.
