Dibba Rock in Fujairah

Your underwater journey starts here

About Dive Site

Dibba Rock is a small rocky island off Fujairah known for its colourful corals, resident turtles and the possibility of encountering reef sharks. Long sloping sides covered by soft and boulder corals create a habitat that divers can circle in a single dive at high tide. The site’s variation between shallow and deeper sections makes it popular for both daytime and night diving.

The island’s seaward side features long sloping reefs adorned with green and purple whip corals. At low tide, the north (sea-facing) side is recommended for divers, while the south side is shallow and better suited for snorkelling. At high tide, you can explore the entire island, and the shallow south side offers chances to see turtles. Dibba Rock is also one of the region’s best night‑dive sites: polyps extend from corals to feed, and sleeping fish and turtles become easily observable.

Green turtles are commonly seen gliding among the corals or resting on the sand. Clownfish guard their anemones and may nip at curious divers or snorkellers. Keep an eye out for unusual jawfish; they build vertical burrows lined with shells and occasionally emerge in flashes of colour. At night, you may find sleeping fish and turtles lodged between rocks.

  • All certified divers: Depth ranges and gentle slopes suit beginners; varied habitats interest experienced divers.
  • Snorkellers: Shallow reefs, abundant fish and frequent turtle sightings make this site ideal for snorkelling.
  • Night divers: The simple navigation and active nocturnal life provide an excellent night‑dive experience.
  • Watch for strong currents and thermoclines; plan to dive the north side at low tide.
  • At high tide, explore the south side, but be mindful of shallow depths.
  • Do not touch or disturb sleeping turtles; they are easily alarmed and may drown if startled.
