This “bucket list” trip is timed for the peak manta season at Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll, where plankton blooms attract dozens of graceful mantas. You’ll also dive hammerhead and tiger shark sites, offering adrenaline‑filled encounters for experienced divers. Between dives, visit a local Manta Trust research center to learn about conservation efforts. August–September sees occasional rain, but underwater visibility remains good thanks to nutrient‑rich waters. Bring a dry bag and deck shoes for slippery conditions on the boat. This expedition suits adventure‑seekers comfortable with currents and big‑animal encounters.
