This guide covers every beginner-relevant PADI course available at Nemo Diving Center: what each one involves, who it is for, how long it takes, what it costs, and where it leads. By the end, you will know exactly which course to start with and what your journey looks like from there.
What Is PADI and Why Does It Matter?
PADI the Professional Association of Diving Instructors is the world’s largest and most recognized scuba diver training organization. A PADI certification is accepted at dive centers, liveaboards, and dive resorts worldwide. It does not expire. Once earned, it is yours permanently.
Nemo Diving Center is a PADI 5-Star Career Development Center (CDC) the highest accreditation level in the PADI system. The center has been operating since 2014 and has trained tens of thousands of divers across all levels. All instructors are PADI-certified and approved by the Dubai Maritime City Authority.
Why Dubai Is an Excellent Place to Earn Your PADI Certification
Dubai is not the first city that comes to mind when people think of scuba diving. But the combination of factors that make it work for beginners is hard to replicate elsewhere:
- Warm water year-round. Sea temperature between 24°C and 32°C means comfortable diving in every month of the year, no cold-water anxiety to add to the learning curve.
- Rich marine life. The dive sites at Dibba Al-Fujairah, where all open water dives take place, offer regular encounters with reef sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, moray eels, and abundant reef fish, even on beginner dives.
- World-class facilities. Nemo’s Palm Jumeirah center includes training pools, private shore access, changing rooms, and free on-site parking, everything in one place.
- Flexible scheduling. Courses run daily with morning, midday, and afternoon session options, seven days a week, making them genuinely accessible to tourists and residents alike.

What First-Time Divers Say About Learning at Nemo
The most consistent theme across Nemo’s reviews is not equipment or facilities it is instructors. First-time divers repeatedly describe the same experience: arriving nervous, leaving confident.

“Ahmed is a phenomenal instructor. He is patient, willing to answer any and all questions, and has a beautiful, infectious love for scuba diving.”
Gwen, who completed her full PADI Open Water course across four consecutive days, noted:
“Hassan was really patient with me and calmed me down multiple times. Very enjoyable experience and would come back to do my advanced open water.”
